Right-believing Prince Daniel of Moscow, youngest son of Saint Alexander Nevsky.
St. Daniel was the youngest son of St. Alexander Nevsky and the first prince of Moscow, living in the second half of the thirteenth century. He ruled with gentleness, avoiding bloodshed among the quarreling princes, and founded the monastery near Moscow that still bears his name.
Before his death in 1303 he received the monastic tonsure. He is honored as a righteous prince, and his memory is kept on March 4.
