Monk-Martyr David of Aivali and Saint Anne's Skete, hanged in Thessaloniki in 1813.
Saint David was born in Aivali in Asia Minor and became a monk at the Skete of Saint Anne on Mount Athos. Sent to Thessaloniki on monastery business, tradition relates that he was moved to confess Christ before the Turkish authorities and was hanged there in 1813.

On the New Calendar, David the New Monk-Martyr is commemorated on June 26. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 9 of the civil calendar.
