Dionysios of Corinth

Hieromartyr Dionysios, Bishop of Corinth in the second century.

Saint Dionysios was Bishop of Corinth in the second century and is known from Eusebius for his letters to many churches, which combined teaching with pastoral care. He is honoured in the synaxarion as a hieromartyr.

Tradition relates that his relics were later carried to Rome.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Dionysios of Corinth is commemorated on November 29. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 12 of the civil calendar.
