Eleutherios was a Christian of Persia who suffered for the faith in the persecutions of the Persian kings. The synaxaria record that he was put to death for confessing Christ.
He is distinct from the hieromartyr Eleutherios commemorated in December.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Eleutherios the Persian is commemorated on April 13. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 26 of the civil calendar.
