Erotheis the Martyr

Holy Martyr Erotheis, who was burned for her confession of Christ.

Erotheis was a Christian maiden who confessed Christ before the pagan authorities and refused to sacrifice to idols. Tradition relates that she was cast into a fire and gave up her soul to God unharmed in faith.

The Church honors her among the virgin martyrs of the early centuries.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Erotheis the Martyr is commemorated on October 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on October 19 of the civil calendar.
