Venerable Kendeas the Wonderworker of Cyprus, hermit of Avgorou.
Kendeas came from Germany, or according to another account from Palestine, and lived as a hermit in the Jordan desert before sailing to Cyprus. He settled in a cave near the village of Avgorou, where he lived in fasting and prayer.
Tradition relates that he worked many miracles, bringing forth a spring of water by his prayer, and that healings continued at his tomb after his repose.

On the New Calendar, Kendeas the Wonderworker is commemorated on October 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on October 19 of the civil calendar.
