Venerable Eustolia and Sopatra, nuns of Constantinople.
Saint Eustolia was a Roman noblewoman who came to Constantinople to lead a life of asceticism. Sopatra, daughter of the Emperor Maurice, became her disciple, and together they founded a convent in the city.
Both reposed in peace in the seventh century after a life of prayer and charity.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Eustolia and Sopatra is commemorated on November 9. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 22 of the civil calendar.
