Saints Gennadios I and Maximos III, Patriarchs of Constantinople.
Saint Gennadios was Patriarch of Constantinople in the fifth century, a learned theologian and reformer of the clergy who is remembered for his holiness of life and his miracles. Saint Maximos III was Patriarch in the fifteenth century, shortly after the fall of the City, and was known for his pastoral care of the enslaved flock.
The two are commemorated together on this day.
