Holy Martyrs Gourias, Samonas and Abibus.
The holy confessors Gurias and Samonas were Christians of Edessa in Mesopotamia who suffered for Christ in the persecutions of the early fourth century, enduring imprisonment and torture before being put to death. The deacon Abibus, martyred in the same city some years later, is honored with them.
The three are venerated in Edessa and throughout the Church as protectors of the wronged, and many faithful have sought their intercession in distress. They are commemorated on November 15.

On the New Calendar, Gurias and Samonas is commemorated on November 15. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 28 of the civil calendar.
