St. Joachim I, Patriarch of Trnovo and Bulgaria.
St. Joachim was a monk of Mount Athos who returned to Bulgaria and founded a monastery on the river Danube. He was chosen as the first Patriarch of Trnovo after the restoration of the Bulgarian patriarchate in 1235 and governed the Church with holiness.
He reposed in 1246 and is commemorated on January 18.
