Kastinos of Byzantium

St. Kastinos, Bishop of Byzantium.

St. Kastinos was a Roman of senatorial rank who, tradition relates, was healed and converted by St. Cyprian of Carthage and became Bishop of Byzantium in the third century, before the city became Constantinople.

He reposed in peace and is commemorated on January 25.

On the New Calendar, Kastinos of Byzantium is commemorated on January 25. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 7 of the civil calendar.
