The Holy 179 Monk-Martyrs of the Monastery of Daou Penteli in Attica.
The Monastery of Daou on Mount Penteli near Athens was attacked by pirates who, tradition relates, slaughtered the entire brotherhood of one hundred and seventy-nine monks during the years of Ottoman rule.
