Finding of the relics of Venerable Nilus the Myrrhstreamer of Mount Athos.
Nilus was born in the Peloponnese in the sixteenth century and became a monk on Mount Athos, where he lived as a hermit in a cave near the Great Lavra. After his repose in 1651 myrrh flowed from his relics in such abundance that it ran down the cliff to the sea.
His relics were found in 1815, and this day commemorates that finding; his main feast is November 12.
