Parthenios of Kiev

Venerable Parthenios of the Kiev Caves, hieroschemamonk.

St. Parthenios was a hieroschemamonk of the Kiev Caves Lavra in the nineteenth century, known for his unceasing prayer, his reading of the whole Psalter daily, and his gift of spiritual counsel. He reposed in 1855, on the feast of the Annunciation.

He was glorified by the Ukrainian Church, and his memory is kept on March 25.

On the New Calendar, Parthenios of Kiev is commemorated on March 25. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 7 of the civil calendar.
