Venerable Peter the Egyptian, disciple of Abba Lot.
St. Peter the Egyptian was a disciple of Abba Lot in the Egyptian desert in the fifth century, whose sayings are preserved among those of the Desert Fathers. He was known for his extreme poverty and fasting.
He reposed in peace and is commemorated on January 27.
