Saint Petronilla, virgin of Rome, honored as a spiritual daughter of the Apostle Peter.
Petronilla was a Christian virgin of Rome in the first century, buried in the catacomb of Domitilla, whom tradition calls the daughter of the Apostle Peter, in the sense that she was brought to faith by him. Tradition relates that she refused a pagan suitor and died after fasting and prayer.
Her memory has been honored in Rome since the earliest centuries.
