Holy Martyr Porphyrios the General and the 200 soldiers martyred with him.
Saint Porphyrios was a general of the emperor Maxentius who, together with two hundred soldiers, believed in Christ through the witness of Saint Catherine and the Empress Augusta.
They confessed their faith before the emperor and were beheaded.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Porphyrios the General is commemorated on November 25. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 8 of the civil calendar.
