Seven Virgin Martyrs of Amisos

Holy Virgin Martyrs Alexandria, Claudia, Euphrasia, Matrona, Juliana, Euphemia and Theodosia of Amisos.

The seven virgin martyrs Alexandria, Claudia, Euphrasia, Matrona, Juliana, Euphemia and Theodosia were Christians of Amisos on the Black Sea who suffered in the persecution of Maximian. Brought before the governor, they confessed Christ and endured tortures, and were burned to death together.

The Church keeps their memory on March 20.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Seven Virgin Martyrs of Amisos is commemorated on March 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 2 of the civil calendar.
