Venerable Sophronios of the Skete of Saint Anne on Mount Athos.
Saint Sophronios lived as a monk in the Skete of Saint Anne on Mount Athos in the eighteenth century, spending many decades in obedience and prayer.
He reposed in peace and is honoured among the Athonite fathers.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Sophronios the Athonite is commemorated on August 18. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 31 of the civil calendar.
