On this day the Church of Crete honors together all the saints of the island: apostles, hierarchs, martyrs, ascetics and New Martyrs, from the Apostle Titus to those who suffered under the Ottomans.
The synaxis gathers the many local saints of Crete into a single celebration.

On the New Calendar, Synaxis of All Saints of Crete is commemorated on July 5. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 18 of the civil calendar.
