Theodosia, Mother of Procopios

Holy Martyr Theodosia, mother of the Great Martyr Procopios.

St. Theodosia was the mother of the Great Martyr Procopios. Tradition relates that although at first a pagan, she was converted by her son's steadfastness under torture and confessed Christ herself.

She was beheaded together with the twelve senatorial women who had believed through Procopios.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Theodosia, Mother of Procopios is commemorated on July 8. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 21 of the civil calendar.
