Saint Zeno was a wealthy Christian of Philadelphia in Arabia who freed his slaves and gave away his goods. When he rebuked the governor for persecuting Christians he was arrested, and his former servant Zenas, refusing to leave him, shared his imprisonment. Both were beheaded in the early fourth century.

On the New Calendar, Zeno and Zenas of Philadelphia is commemorated on June 22. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 5 of the civil calendar.
