  Tychon of Amathus

  Hierarch, Τύχων

  St. Tychon was Bishop of Amathus in Cyprus in the fifth century. The son of a baker, he was known from youth for his generosity to the poor, and as bishop he labored with apostolic zeal to turn the remaining pagans of the island from their idols to Christ, shepherding his flock with gentleness and prayer.

• Mark of Apollonias

  Hierarch, Μάρκος Επίσκοπος Απολλωνιάδος

  Saint Mark was bishop of Apollonias and, tradition relates, was arrested for his confession of Christ, tortured and put to death, receiving the crown of martyrdom as a hierarch.

• Mnemonius of Amathus

  Hierarch, Μνημόνιος

  Saint Mnemonius was bishop of Amathus in Cyprus in the fifth century and ordained Saint Tychon, who succeeded him in that see. He is remembered as a holy hierarch who reposed in peace, and his memory is kept on the feast of his disciple.
