• Christodoulos of Patmos

  Venerable, Χριστόδουλος

  St. Christodoulos was a monk of the eleventh century, born in Asia Minor, who lived the ascetic life in various monasteries of the East before receiving from the emperor the island of Patmos, where St. John received the Revelation. There he founded the great Monastery of St. John the Theologian, which crowns the island to this day.

• Sabinus of Egypt

  Martyr, Σαβίνος

  St. Sabinus was a Christian of Hermopolis in Egypt who, during the persecution of Diocletian, hid with a group of believers in a hut outside the city. Betrayed by a beggar whom he had helped, he was arrested, tortured and drowned in the Nile.

  St. Romanos was a martyr of Parion on the Hellespont whose name the Greek synaxaria record for March 16. Tradition relates that he confessed Christ before the pagan authorities and was put to death by the sword.

• Julian of Cilicia

  St. Julian was a young Christian of Anazarbus in Cilicia, of a senatorial family, who suffered under Diocletian. Tradition relates that after a year of tortures he was sewn into a sack filled with sand and venomous creatures and cast into the sea, and that his body was recovered and later brought to Antioch.

• Alexander of Rome

  St. Alexander was Bishop of Rome in the early second century, in the days of the emperor Hadrian according to tradition. He is remembered as a hieromartyr who confessed Christ and was put to death for the faith.

• Aninas the Wonderworker

  Venerable, Ανίνας

  St. Aninas was born in Chalcedon and lived as an ascetic near the Euphrates in Syria, in the fourth or fifth century. Tradition relates that he was granted great gifts of healing and prophecy, that wild animals obeyed him, and that many came to him for counsel.
