Alexander of Rome

Hieromartyr Alexander, Pope of Rome.

St. Alexander was Bishop of Rome in the early second century, in the days of the emperor Hadrian according to tradition. He is remembered as a hieromartyr who confessed Christ and was put to death for the faith.

The Church keeps his memory on March 16.
