  Sts. Kosmas and Damian of Rome were brothers and physicians of the third century who healed the sick freely in the name of Christ, accepting no payment, for which they are counted among the Holy Unmercenaries. Their charity and their faith drew many to the Church, and according to tradition they ended their lives as martyrs.

  Saints Kosmas and Damian of Asia Minor were brothers and physicians, raised in the faith by their pious mother Theodota. They reposed in peace after lives given wholly to God and neighbor.
