Holy Confessor Achaemenides, a Persian nobleman who suffered for Christ under King Yazdegerd.
Saint Achaemenides was the son of a distinguished Persian family in the early fifth century, during the reign of Yazdegerd. On becoming a Christian he abandoned his ancestral religion and possessions, and the king tried in vain to win him back.
Tradition relates that he was tortured and publicly humiliated, being set to tend the royal camels in rags, but persevered in the faith and confessed Christ to the end.

On the New Calendar, Achaemenides of Persia is commemorated on November 3. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 16 of the civil calendar.
