Aristion of Alexandria

Hieromartyr Aristion, bishop of Alexandria in Cilicia.

St. Aristion was born of pagan parents in Syria in the early centuries of the Church and, coming to faith in Christ, was made bishop of Alexandria in Cilicia, the lesser Alexandria. He labored to bring the pagans of his region to the faith.

He was arrested for his preaching and, refusing to deny Christ, was burned alive. The Church commemorates him on September 3.
