Barbaros the Soldier

Holy Martyr Barbaros the Soldier, with Bacchus, Callimachus and Dionysius, who suffered under Julian the Apostate.

Barbaros was a soldier in the army of Julian the Apostate who, according to the synaxarion, prevailed in single combat and was then discovered to be a Christian. He refused to sacrifice to the gods and was tortured and beheaded, together with Bacchus, Callimachus and Dionysius, who confessed Christ on witnessing his steadfastness.
