Seraphim of Dombou

Venerable Seraphim of Levadeia, founder of the Monastery of the Savior on Mount Dombou.

Seraphim was born in Boeotia in the sixteenth century and became a monk in the region of Helicon. After years of solitude he founded the Monastery of the Transfiguration on Mount Dombou near Levadeia, gathering many disciples.

He reposed in 1602 and is venerated throughout Boeotia as a wonderworker.

On the New Calendar, Seraphim of Dombou is commemorated on May 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 19 of the civil calendar.
