Holy Apostles Bartholomew of the Twelve and Barnabas of the Seventy, founder of the Church of Cyprus.
Saint Bartholomew, one of the Twelve, is generally identified with Nathanael of Cana. Tradition relates that he preached in Arabia, India and Armenia, where he was flayed and crucified for Christ.
Saint Barnabas, a Levite of Cyprus, was one of the Seventy, the companion of the Apostle Paul on his first missionary journey and the founder of the Church of Cyprus, where he was martyred at Salamis. His relics, found with the Gospel of Matthew on his breast, secured the independence of the Cypriot Church.

On the New Calendar, Bartholomew and Barnabas the Apostles is commemorated on June 11. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 24 of the civil calendar.
