St. Chrysostomos the New, Confessor and Metropolitan of Florina, hierarch of the Genuine Orthodox Church.

St. Chrysostomos the New, Metropolitan of Florina, was a hierarch and confessor of the twentieth century. A learned and ascetic bishop, he took up the leadership of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece who held to the traditional church calendar, and for this confession he endured deprivation, censure, and exile, bearing all with patience and meekness.

He reposed in 1955, revered by his flock as a confessor of the faith. His memory is honored on August 25, and he is invoked as an intercessor by those who cherish the traditions of the fathers.
