Eleutherios and Leonides

Holy Martyrs Eleutherios, Leonides and the Holy Infants, burned for Christ.

The synaxaria record that Saints Eleutherios and Leonides, together with a number of children, were cast into a fire for confessing Christ.

They are honoured together on this day.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Eleutherios and Leonides is commemorated on August 8. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 21 of the civil calendar.
