Euphemianos of Cyprus

Venerable Euphemianos the Wonderworker, hermit of Lysi in Cyprus.

Tradition relates that Saint Euphemianos was among the Greeks who set out on the Second Crusade in the twelfth century and, when it dispersed, settled in Cyprus. He lived as a hermit near the village of Lysi, devoting himself to prayer.

He was known for his miracles, and a church near Lysi preserved his memory.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Euphemianos of Cyprus is commemorated on November 14. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 27 of the civil calendar.
