Holy Apostle and Martyr Eutyches.
St. Eutyches was a disciple of the apostolic age, remembered by tradition as a follower of St. John the Theologian who also accompanied St. Paul in his labors for the Gospel. Preaching Christ in various lands, he endured imprisonment and torments for the faith.
Though not numbered among the Seventy, he is honored with the title of apostle for his share in their work of evangelization, and he completed his course as a martyr. He is commemorated on August 24.
