Heliconis of Thessalonica

Holy Martyr Heliconis of Thessalonica, beheaded at Corinth.

Heliconis was a Christian woman of Thessalonica who went to Corinth during the persecution of Gordian and Philip and openly rebuked the worship of idols. After cruel tortures, tradition relates, she entered the temple and cast down the statues of the gods.

She was beheaded around the year 244.
