Holy Virgin Martyr Kalliope, who suffered for Christ in the third century.
Saint Kalliope was a Christian maiden of great beauty who, during the persecution under Decius in the third century, refused both marriage to a pagan and the renunciation of her faith. Tradition relates that she was cruelly tortured and finally beheaded.
