Paul the Confessor of Kaiouma

Venerable Paul the Confessor of the monastery of Kaiouma, who suffered for the holy icons.

Saint Paul was a monk of the monastery of Kaiouma in Constantinople during the iconoclast persecution. Tradition relates that for his defence of the holy icons he was tortured and burned, and the Church honours him as a confessor.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Paul the Confessor of Kaiouma is commemorated on June 8. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 21 of the civil calendar.
