Lykarion the Martyr

Holy Martyr Lykarion of Egypt, who suffered for Christ in his youth.

Saint Lykarion was a young Christian of Egypt who, tradition relates, was arrested for his faith, endured torture and was finally beheaded, receiving the crown of martyrdom.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Lykarion the Martyr is commemorated on June 7. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 20 of the civil calendar.
