Marcellus, Philagrios and Pancratios

Hieromartyrs Marcellus of Sicily, Philagrios of Cyprus and Pancratios of Taormina, disciples of the Apostle Peter.

Sts. Marcellus, Philagrios and Pancratios were disciples of the Apostle Peter, who consecrated them bishops and sent them to preach: Marcellus to Sicily, Philagrios to Cyprus and Pancratios to Taormina.

All three laboured to bring the pagans to Christ and sealed their apostolic work with martyrdom in the first century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Marcellus, Philagrios and Pancratios is commemorated on February 9. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 22 of the civil calendar.
