Venerable Romanos of Cilicia, wonderworker, hermit near Antioch.
St. Romanos came from Rhosos in Cilicia and lived as a hermit in a cave near Antioch, wearing heavy chains beneath a hair shirt and never lighting a fire. Theodoret of Cyrrhus, who knew him, records his life.
He was granted the gift of healing, and many childless couples received children through his prayers. He reposed in peace in the fifth century.

On the New Calendar, Romanos of Cilicia is commemorated on February 9. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 22 of the civil calendar.
