Martha, Mary, Kyria, Valeria and Marcia, Virgin Martyrs

Holy Five Virgin Martyrs Martha, Mary, Kyria, Valeria and Marcia of Caesarea in Palestine.

These five virgins of Caesarea in Palestine confessed Christ before the governor during the persecutions and were put to death by the sword. The synaxaria honour them together as a company of virgin martyrs.

On the New Calendar, Martha, Mary, Kyria, Valeria and Marcia, Virgin Martyrs is commemorated on June 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 19 of the civil calendar.
