Martinian of Belozersk

Venerable Martinian, abbot of Belozersk, disciple of St. Cyril of White Lake.

St. Martinian was a disciple of St. Cyril of White Lake in the fifteenth century and later abbot of the Ferapontov Monastery. Called to the Holy Trinity Lavra by the Grand Prince, he served there as abbot before returning to Ferapontov, where he reposed in 1483.

He is commemorated on January 12.
