Tigrios and Eutropios

Holy Martyrs Tigrios the Presbyter and Eutropios the Reader of Constantinople.

Sts. Tigrios and Eutropios were clergy of Constantinople devoted to St. John Chrysostom. After the exile of the saint in 404 a fire destroyed the Great Church, and they were falsely accused of setting it; Eutropios died under torture and Tigrios was exiled.

They are commemorated on January 12.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Tigrios and Eutropios is commemorated on January 12. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 25 of the civil calendar.
