Maximos, Theodotos, Hesychios and Asklepiodote

Holy Martyrs Maximos, Theodotos, Hesychios and Asklepiodote of Adrianople.

Sts. Maximos, Theodotos, Hesychios and the maiden Asklepiodote were arrested at Adrianople in Thrace during the persecution of Maximian. They were tied to trees and torn with iron hooks, but remained steadfast in their confession.

Tradition relates that their prayers worked miracles that brought many to faith before they were beheaded in the early fourth century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Maximos, Theodotos, Hesychios and Asklepiodote is commemorated on February 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 4 (a day earlier in leap years) of the civil calendar.
