Venerable Mercurius the Faster of the Kiev Caves Lavra.
Venerable Mercurius was a monk of the Kiev Caves Lavra who lived in the fourteenth century and is remembered for his strict fasting. His relics rest in the Far Caves of the Lavra.
He is commemorated in the Russian calendar both on this day and on November 24.
