Mirax of Egypt

Holy Martyr Mirax of Egypt, who returned to Christ after denying Him.

The holy martyr Mirax was an Egyptian Christian who in his youth denied Christ and embraced the religion of the conquerors. Moved by the tears and prayers of his parents, he repented, openly confessed Christ before the ruler, and was beheaded. His story is told in the Synaxarion as an example of the power of repentance.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Mirax of Egypt is commemorated on December 11. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 24 of the civil calendar.
