Nicholas the Sicilian

Venerable Nicholas the Sicilian, ascetic of Mount Neotakos in Euboea.

Saint Nicholas came from Sicily and lived as a hermit on Mount Neotakos in Euboea, where he was known for his ascetic life and prayer.

He reposed in peace and is venerated on the island of Euboea.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Nicholas the Sicilian is commemorated on August 23. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on September 5 of the civil calendar.
