New Martyr Nikephoros of Crete.
St. Nikephoros was a Cretan who, tradition relates, confessed Christ before the Turkish authorities and was put to death for the faith in the nineteenth century.
He is numbered among the New Martyrs of Crete and is commemorated on January 11.
