  Theodosius the Cenobiarch

  Venerable, Θεοδόσιος

  St. Theodosius the Cenobiarch was born in Cappadocia in the fifth century and came as a young man to the Holy Land, where he embraced the ascetic life. Near Bethlehem he founded a great monastery of the common life, and he was appointed head of all the cenobitic monks of Palestine, whence his title Cenobiarch.

• Theodosios of Trebizond

  Hierarch, Θεοδόσιος Τραπεζούντος

  St. Theodosios was born in Trebizond in the fourteenth century and became a monk and later abbot of the Philotheou Monastery on Mount Athos. Tradition relates that he was chosen Metropolitan of his native Trebizond, where he served with wisdom during troubled times.

• Michael of Klops

  Venerable, Μιχαήλ ο διά Χριστόν Σαλός

  St. Michael of Klops was a fool-for-Christ of the fifteenth century who, tradition relates, was of princely family but concealed his origin and lived at the Klops Monastery near Novgorod in extreme humility. He was granted the gifts of prophecy and miracles.

• Nikephoros of Crete

  Martyr, Νικηφόρος εκ Κρήτης

  St. Nikephoros was a Cretan who, tradition relates, confessed Christ before the Turkish authorities and was put to death for the faith in the nineteenth century.

• Parthena, Domnina and Neollina

  Holy Woman, Παρθένα, Δομνίνα και Νεολλίνα

  Sts. Neollina, Domnina and Parthena were virgins of Edessa who suffered martyrdom for Christ. The synaxaria record their names and their steadfast confession, but the details of their contest have not been preserved.

  St. Hyginus was Bishop of Rome in the middle of the second century, a Greek by birth according to tradition. He guided the Roman Church during a time of heresies and persecution and is remembered as a martyr in some accounts.
